Do I Need Good Vrm For Pbo. I have this very basic motherboard msi b450 pro m2 v2. Posted by 2 years ago.

Now it's coming to ryzen 3000 series chips. We know this board looks good, performs well, and has almost every feature a user would need. You'll notice the ryzen 7 3700x draws more.
While A Prism Is Better For Vrm Temps Than The U12S , Both Are Air Coolers So They Both Will Do Help Vrm Cooling.
Pbo extends the maximum threshold for these components, allowing faster clock speeds to be achieved for a longer time. I am concerned because i was planning on using the x570m with a 3900x with auto oc and pbo, but it sounds like the vrm heatsink cant take it. The ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.
It's All Running At Stock No Pbo Or Auto Oc But Still During Cpu Stress Tests Vrm Temps Touch 100°C And Keep On Hovering Around There.
Pbo comes from precision boost overdrive and enables your amd 3rd gen ryzen processor to maintain higher voltages for longer times, if the motherboard's voltage regulator modules (vrm) can handle them, and if the temperature of the processor does not get too high. Tell my tale to those who ask. Auto+pbo enabled is best setting for ryzen cpu.
I Knew That Pbo Used Various Aspects Of Chip Health To Determine Overclocking Capacity And Dynamically And Did So Pretty Well, But I Did Not Know It Had A Data Link To The Motherboard To Also Probe And Monitor The Vrm's.
With pbo you don't have to worry about voltages, only temps, and lower is always better, preferably under 65*c. I don't have a good vrm mobo that's why i am scared of turning on the pbo. Asrock x570m pro4 with 3900x autooc + pbo.
I've Basically Given Up And Lot Pbo Do It's Thing But My.
I expect better performance if i use a power water cooler. I bought it for ryzen 1600 and it was budget oriented and was sufficient for this processor. 5900x ccd1 4.6ghz at 1.25v 4.7ghz at 1.27v 4.8ghz at 1.42v it is obvious that 1.42v is way too much and impossible to cool pbo will push 4.8ghz single core with 1.44v
Power Consumption / Vrm Temperatures.
Negative voltage offset aka undervolt will help with temps too. I need all the cores (2nd priority) and need the extra money for a 2080 ti (1st priority). Pbo and static oc are not the same, thus not operating on same voltages cause they operate under different conditions.
